Aliens versus Predator 2 (Saturday 26 May 2001 8.10 hrs NL-time)
Writing the previous news item below, I discovered not mentioning the follow up for the pc-game Aliens versus Predator before. This game is a bit closer to release then A:CM. The story starts with scientists visiting the derelict spaceship on LV-1201 while the Predator is also visiting the place. Nothing new, but the screenshots look very promising! Aliens: Colonial Marines for Playstation2 (Saturday 26 May 2001 7.55 hrs NL-time)
In the coming Fall a new Aliens game will be released, for the Playstation2. Aliens: Colonial Marines is being developed by Check Six Games for Fox Interactive. It will be published by Electronic Arts.  Thanks to Avpnews for the info and pictures.

The 3rd Jurassic Park movie is coming our way. You can watch it's trailer online from now here at the Apple site. The movie looks promising!

Special edition dvd Blade Runner in 2002 (Wednesday 9 May 2001 16.43 hrs NL-time)
According to the DVD Street Dates website the Blade Runner Special Edition dvd release has been pushed back to the first quarter of 2002.  This seems to be confirmed by The Digital Bits which says ". . . to celebrate the film's 20th anniversary, look for an awesome, multi-disc Blade Runner: Special Edition in 2002." In the meantime you have to do it with the directors cut version on dvd that's available. The quality of this dvd is not terrific and it lacks any extra material (but it's for sale at midprice range so you could afford this copy to satisfy yourself until 2002!). Pitch Black..... you gotta see this movie! (Monday 30 April 2001 15.50 hrs NL-time)
If there is one movie you got to watch, then it's Pitch Black. A spacecraft crashes on a dessert planet (terrific first 10 minutes of the movie!) and the few survivors are confrontated with the creatures that live beneath the surface of the planet and their dangerous prisoner (played by Vin Diesel). The R1 version of the dvd is available in the great DTS surround-sound. The R2 dvd version (only in Dolby Digital sound) will be available at the end of May 2001.

It has been a long ago that I have updated this site. Sorry about the delay. I have been working on some other websites and trained myself in Netobjects Fusion, a very neat webdesign tool from Netobjects. In a couple of months the AliensNL website will be completely transfered to this package, with some content changes. It's possible you'll find some broken links in the current site (for instance in the deleted scenes sections).

Blade Runner secret revealed (Tuesday 11 July 2000 19.30 hrs NL-time)
Well it finaly happened: Ridley Scott revealed that Deckard, the main figure in Blade Runner, is actually a replicant and not a human.  This suggestion was going around for a time already, due to some references the Directors Cut-version of the movie. If you can receive the BBC television, coming Friday July 15th there will be a showing of this version on Channel 4 together with some documentary including unseen movie excerpts. The Borg (Tuesday 22 May 2000 20.20 hrs NL-time)
Most of you SF fanatics will like the Star Trek series. I enjoy the Voyager episodes, especially when the Borg are involved. Although not to be seen in Europe, in the US the last episode of season 6 contains a capture of captain Janeway who seems to be transformed to a Borg drone.  In season 7 I am sure they will start with an episode in which things turn out good for her and the crew of the starship. Season 7 will be the last season of Voyager, as far as I am informed.

The Thirteenth Floor  (Tuesday 22 May 2000 19.55 hrs NL-time)
I was very surprised to see The Thirteenth Floor on dvd this weekend. This SF thriller was released in the US in 1999 and never reached the cinemas in The Netherlands, which means often it's shit or it's to good to be true! I was afraid of some rip-off cheap techno thriller, but instead it is a decent flic about a murder case where the evidence is hidden in a virtual computer-environment that simulates the 30's.
